August 31, 2026 Product Updates: Multi-Step Playbooks, Usage Insights, and Chat Improvements
Playbooks now work across multiple steps and turns, while new Usage Insights give you a clearer view of your activity and how it compares with your team.
This week, we made Playbooks behave much more like actual procedures, with steps that can pause, ask you a question, and continue from where they left off.
We also added Usage insights to your profile, giving you a clearer picture of what you have actually produced in MorningAI over time, plus a leaderboard showing how your activity compares with the rest of your organization.
And under the hood, we made chat more reliable when a response is stopped, fails, or involves multiple steps.
Playbooks
Playbooks now run as multi-step procedures
Playbooks can now follow a step-by-step process across multiple turns.
If a playbook tells the assistant to stop and check something with you, it will ask the question in chat and wait for your response. When you reply, the playbook continues from that point instead of starting over.
Attached playbooks also stay with the conversation. Previously, a playbook only applied to the turn where you attached it. Now it remains available as the conversation continues.
We also removed the size limit that could cause longer playbooks to be cut short. If important instructions, formatting rules, or final deliverables appeared near the end of a long playbook or reference file, the assistant could miss them. Playbooks are now used in full.
Profile
Usage insights: see what you have produced
Your profile now includes a new Usage insights section that gives you a clearer view of how you have been using MorningAI over time.
Your usage shows five metrics: content created, agent activity, downloads, active days, and your current streak. Each one includes a tooltip explaining exactly what is being counted.
You can switch between a rolling last-12-months view and individual calendar years going back to the year you joined MorningAI. Streaks are measured across your full history, and the streak card shows both your current streak and your longest streak.

See where you stand on your team
The new Leaderboard tab shows the top 10 people in your organization based on activity over the last 30 days. You can see each person’s rank, score, content created, and agent activity.
The score is intentionally simple: content created + agent activity + downloads. Nothing is weighted, so it is easy to understand how the ranking is calculated.
Organization admins also get an org-wide summary showing active users this month, content created, agent activity, and downloads.
Edit your profile in place
We also rebuilt profile editing so you can update your name, job title, phone number, and social links directly where they appear instead of using one long form.
Limitations & expectations
- Usage insights tracks three types of activity: content created, agent activity, and downloads. An active day is any day with at least one of the three.
- The leaderboard is available to members of an organization. It shows the names and avatars of people in that organization.
- Leaderboard activity covers the last 30 days and refreshes periodically rather than instantly, so very recent activity may take some time to appear.
Also in this release
- Chat messages and streamed responses are now preserved more reliably when a response is stopped, fails, or you reload the conversation
- Chat keeps better track of files, charts, and images created in earlier turns, making follow-ups more reliable
- Deleted messages are now excluded from assistant context, and regenerating a response replaces the previous answer instead of appending another version
