Connecting Your Social Accounts

Connect Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to MorningAI so you can publish from inside the platform. The OAuth flow, the per-platform prerequisites, and the gotchas that catch most teams (Instagram business account, LinkedIn organization page, Facebook page admin).

Browse Calendar & Publishing

Before you can publish a single post from MorningAI, you need to connect the social accounts you want to publish to. This is a one-time setup per platform, with one or two per-platform quirks worth understanding up front.

Where to Connect

Settings → Connectors. You'll see a Social section with rows for each supported network. Each row has a Connect button (or Disconnect, if you're already connected) and a Select page dropdown to choose the default page or account to post to. A "Connected" badge appears once OAuth completes.

Currently supported social connectors: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. X (Twitter) is not yet supported as a publishing destination — see Posting to X for the workaround.

Facebook

Click Connect on the Facebook row. You'll be sent to Facebook's permission screen, where you grant MorningAI access to manage and publish posts to the pages you administrate.

After OAuth, pick your default Facebook page in Select page. If you administrate multiple pages, this is the one MorningAI will publish to unless you change it at publish time.

Facebook gotchas

  • You must be an admin of the Facebook page you want to post to. Pages where you're only an editor or moderator won't appear in the dropdown.
  • Facebook permissions can expire. If a publish fails with an auth error, reconnect the account.
  • Disconnecting Facebook revokes scheduled posts. Anything in the queue may not publish.

Instagram

Click Connect on the Instagram row. Instagram OAuth requires a Business or Creator account that's linked to a Facebook page — that's Meta's rule for any third-party publisher, including us. Personal accounts cannot publish via API.

After OAuth, pick your default Instagram account in Select page.

Instagram gotchas

  • Personal accounts will not connect. This is the #1 thing that catches new users — make sure your account is set to Business or Creator first.
  • Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook page you administrate. If you disconnect Facebook, Instagram publishing breaks too.
  • Instagram requires images. Text-only Instagram posts aren't supported by the API.

LinkedIn

Click Connect on the LinkedIn row. The current integration posts to organization pages — your company page — not to personal profiles. Pick your default organization in Select page.

LinkedIn gotchas

  • Organization pages only. Personal profile posting is not supported via this connector today.
  • You must have admin/manager rights on the organization page you want to post to. Pages where you're only a content viewer won't appear.

Disconnecting

Each connected row shows a Disconnect option. Disconnecting revokes MorningAI's access immediately and cancels any scheduled posts that haven't yet sent. Reconnecting is fast — same OAuth flow, no data lost on the MorningAI side.

Verifying the Connection Worked

A Connected badge appears on the row. The Select page dropdown populates with the pages or accounts you administrate. From there, the Publish Flow modal will show the platform pill as available; pages without a connected account stay disabled with a tooltip prompting you back to Connectors.

Limits

  • No hard cap on number of connected accounts per platform — connect as many as you administrate.
  • Each platform has its own caption limits enforced at publish time: Facebook 63,206 chars, Instagram 2,200 chars, LinkedIn 3,000 chars.
  • OAuth tokens can expire (Meta sometimes prompts for re-auth). Reconnect if a publish fails with an auth error.

What Connecting Unlocks

Once connected, you can:

  • Publish posts directly from the Publish Flow (no copy-paste).
  • Schedule posts to publish at a future date and time.
  • Cross-post to multiple platforms in one publish action.
  • Use Done For You to autonomously generate posts for those channels (review and publish stays manual).

FAQ

Do I need to connect every platform I want to use?

Yes. Each platform is its own OAuth — there's no master "connect all socials" button.

Can multiple team members publish to the same connected account?

Yes. The connection is at the workspace level, not the user level. Anyone in the workspace can publish to connected accounts.

Why doesn't my page show up in Select page?

Almost always a permissions issue — you need admin rights on the Facebook page, the Instagram business account linked to a page you admin, or admin/manager rights on the LinkedIn organization page.
