Creating a Facebook Post

Post to Facebook directly from MorningAI: write or generate a caption, attach images, preview the Facebook feed look, and publish or schedule. Cross-post to Instagram and LinkedIn in the same flow.

Browse Calendar & Publishing

Create a Facebook post in MorningAI by writing (or generating) a caption, attaching images, previewing exactly how it'll look in the Facebook feed, and publishing or scheduling — all without leaving the platform.

Before You Start

Connect your Facebook account through Settings → Connectors. You'll need admin rights on the Facebook page you want to post to. See the Connecting Your Social Accounts companion article for the full OAuth walkthrough and per-platform gotchas.

Two Ways to Start a Post

From Hype Writer

Open Hype Writer, choose a Facebook post use case, fill in your Brief, review and edit the AI-generated draft, and click into the Share tab. From there, the Publish Flow takes over.

From the Calendar (Quick Create)

Open `/calendar`, click the + button on any date, and use Quick Create for a faster path. Both routes converge on the same Publish Flow.

Inside the Publish Flow

You'll see:

  • Suggested Caption with an inline editor.
  • Filmstrip of attached images.
  • Facebook preview that mimics how the post will look in the feed.
  • Pills for each connected platform — toggle Facebook on.
  • Page selector (if you administrate multiple pages, confirm the right one is chosen).
  • Schedule picker — Select time → pick a date and time → CTA changes from Publish to Schedule.

Use AI to Refine the Caption

Click "Write alternative caption" to open the AI rewrite panel. Quick chips:

  • More casual — for community posts.
  • Add urgency — for promos and limited drops.
  • Shorter — for ads and feed-friendly posts.
  • Expand — turn a one-liner into a real story.

Or write your own freeform instruction — "Make it more casual, add a call to action" — and the AI rewrites accordingly. The same refiner works across all platforms; tone is set by your instruction, not by a per-platform button.

Publish Now or Schedule

Click Publish to post immediately. Or click "Select time," pick a date and time, and the CTA shifts to Schedule. After scheduling, you can still hit "or publish now" if you change your mind.

After publishing, you'll see a success overlay — "Your content is ready to shine!" — and a notification: "Your post has been successfully published on Facebook!" (or the scheduled equivalent). The post also appears in your Calendar.

Cross-Posting

You can toggle multiple platform pills in the same Publish Flow — Facebook + Instagram + LinkedIn. The platform sends posts per-platform, one at a time, so a multi-platform publish may report partial success if one network is having issues. Captions can be customized per platform before publish.

Pro Tips

  • Confirm the right page before you write. Customers with multiple Facebook pages (brand, founder, secondary) sometimes publish to the wrong one.
  • Facebook posts can be long, but shouldn't be. The platform allows ~63,000 characters, but Facebook's feed cuts off after a few lines with "See More" — keep the hook in the first 1–2 sentences.
  • Add an image (or three). Image posts dramatically outperform text-only posts on Facebook.
  • Schedule for evenings and weekends if your Facebook audience is consumer. Use the schedule picker to batch a week of posts on Monday morning.

Limits and Gotchas

  • Caption: up to 63,206 characters (Facebook's hard limit). The publish modal blocks publish if exceeded.
  • Facebook page admin required. If the Facebook account you connected isn't an admin of the page you want to post to, the page won't appear in Select page.
  • Disconnecting a connector revokes scheduled posts. Anything in the queue may not publish.
  • Facebook permissions can expire (Meta sometimes prompts for re-auth). If a publish fails with an auth error, reconnect.

Troubleshooting

My page isn't showing up in Select page.

You're likely not an admin of that Facebook page. Confirm in Facebook's page roles, then disconnect and reconnect MorningAI to refresh the list.

Publishing failed with an authentication error.

Your Facebook OAuth token has expired. Go to Settings → Connectors and reconnect Facebook.

Caption exceeds Facebook character limit.

You're over 63,206 characters. Trim, or split into two posts. The publish modal will block publish until the caption is within the limit.

FAQ

Can I post to my personal Facebook profile?

No — the connector publishes to Facebook pages (and pages you administrate), not to personal profiles.

Can I edit a scheduled post before it goes out?

Yes. Open the post from your Calendar, edit, and reschedule or publish immediately.

Does MorningAI know if my post performed well?

Performance metrics are surfaced where they exist; full analytics depend on the platform. For now, treat MorningAI as the create-and-publish layer and check Facebook insights for performance detail.
