This tool has been retired. As of July 2026, the standalone Search & Replace tool is no longer available in Studio. Its use cases are covered by the unified Edit Image flow, which handles the same jobs — describe the change, mark the area directly on the image, and apply an AI edit. See how to edit images in MorningAI for the new flow, or how to request retouch work in Image Studio for the professional-retoucher path. The guide below is kept as a legacy reference.
The "Search and Replace" feature in Studio allows you to modify specific elements within an image, making it easy to customize visuals while preserving their style.
Follow these steps to use this feature.
Step 1: Select an Image
- Open your project in Studio.
- Navigate to the image you want to edit and select it.
Step 2: Access the Edit Menu
- Click on the magic star icon located in the main menu at the top of the screen or the Edit button on the bottom right of the image (as you can see on the GIF above).
Step 3: Open the "Search and Replace" Tool
- In the pop-up menu that appears, select the "Search and Replace" button.
Step 4: Specify the Search and Replace Parameters
- Search Field: Type in a description of the element you want to replace.Example: If the image contains a woman with blonde hair and you want to change it, type "blonde hair".
- Replace Field: Describe the replacement element.Example: Enter "brown hair" if you want the hair color to be brunette.
Step 5: Apply Changes
- Click the Submit button to apply the changes. This usually takes 10 to 15 seconds.
Notes on Results:
- The feature generally produces excellent results, but some adjustments might not be as expected.
- If the output isn't satisfactory, use the Undo button to revert and try generating the change again.
Additional Tips:
- Object Replacement: The tool excels at swapping objects. For example, you can replace a cup with a mug while maintaining the image's style.
- Style Consistency: The edits will adapt to the image's existing style (e.g., photographs will stay realistic, and oil paintings will retain their artistic texture).
- Experiment with descriptions to achieve your desired results.
By leveraging this feature, you can quickly make targeted edits without compromising the overall look and feel of your project.
